THE WDCA/Beechworth women's side is gearing up for their biggest game of the year.
The girls will be eyeing revenge when they come up against Echuca at Tongala Recreation Reserve on Sunday after going down to them in last year's big dance.
The record between the two sides this season remains at a stalemate with WDCA/Beechworth winning the 30 over game but losing in the T20 match.
WDCA/Beechworth manager Andrea Belci said it's exciting for the girls.
"It's an exciting time, especially considering how challenging this year has been," Belci said.
"We've had people in and out of isolation so it's been hard to keep the same team on the park.
"The competition's been really close this year and we didn't know who we were playing until last weekend.
"It was out of Shepparaton and Echuca but Echuca managed to get through."
It's been tight tussles between the two grand finalists this year with Echuca winning the first game with a few overs to spare and then WDCA/Becchworth took out the second match on the final ball of the day.
"The girls that played in last year's grand final will definitely be looking for a bit of revenge," Belci said.
"I think we're better placed to win this year than we were last year too.
"Having Kate Burns as coach is why we've finished on top.
"She's provided structure that we didn't have last year and also experience having played state cricket.
"Fingers crossed we perform on Sunday."
