BEECHWORTH'S under 16s had their season cut short in semi-final after going down to City Colts in their two-day match last weekend.
Choosing to bat first at the Barr Reserve in Wangaratta, the Wanderers were made to grind away with the bat as opener Marshall Semmens (16) and Taylor Thomson (20) ticked over the runs.
But as Semmens and Will Prebble left for six, the floodgates began to open and Thomson was gone at 6/48.
Zach Spargo would come in and top score in a gritty 26 to see Beechworth to 82 all-out.
With a nervy chase ahead, City Colts were composed and made the runs with eight wickets to spare.
Prebble and Charlie Pieper would take the wickets in the 14 overs bowled for the innings.
