LAST Wednesday the third round of the Women’s Club Championships was played.

A good field of 11 players contested the day.

Clearly after last week's rain the going was a bit tougher with a bit less run and quicker greens.

The winner of the day was Glenda Marshall (15) 75.

Runner up was Deb Tully (24) 77 on a countback from Judy Pierce (26) 77 and Jacqui Cato (26) 77.

Nearest the pins went to Glenda Marshall on the 10th and Jacqui Cato on the 17th.

On Sunday there was a handful of golfers front up at Beechworth for a stableford event.

Dean Howard (14) was the winner with 35 points, runner up was son Jacob Howard (9) 34.

Next best were Phil Pelgrim (17) 33 and Jamie Dolny (13) 30.

Nearest the pin on the 5th went to Jacob Howard.

Also on Sunday four of our members travelled over to Rutherglen for their tournament.

Dylan Pool made it two tournament wins in a row.

Taking out the title with an even par round of 65, to win by one shot from fellow Beechworthian Vaughan Saunders.

Dylan along with Rod Shaw took home a nearest the pin each.

This coming Sunday will be a Stableford event for the long weekend.

The June Monthly Medal will be played the following Sunday, 15 June.

This round will also double up as the top 8 qualifying for the George King Memorial handicap matchplay Championships.
