A MAN and a woman were taken to Albury Hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries after their vehicle crashed down a slope at Rawes Track in Stanley on Tuesday.

Emergency services including Beechworth SES and CFA units from Stanley, Killawarra and Mount Beauty attended the scene at approximately 2pm, and SES members set up a high angle rescue.

Crews worked in difficult terrain, as the vehicle had fallen approximately 30 metres down a steep embankment on the track, which is located in the Nine Mile Creek historic area.

The pair was rescued and the incident was declared safe around 5pm.

Paramedics and police also attended.
