BILLSON’S Brewery has won back-to-back state awards, after recently winning gold in the Victorian Tourism Awards’ Tourism, Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category for the second consecutive year.
Six years on from the 1865 brewery’s restoration, the company was commended for its workforce, which is now made up of more than 200 staff, and its reach, with beverages now available nation-wide.
Billson’s beat out Melbourne’s Starward Distillery and Inverloch-based winery Harman Wines to take home the category’s top gong.
According to the Victorian Tourism Industry Council, Billson’s attracts some 66,000 visitors each year.
As a result of their victory, Billson’s Brewery will now represent Victoria at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in 2024.
