BEECHWORTH’S Karin Michellini fell in love with acting five years ago when she successfully auditioned for the local theatre company’s play ‘Trial and Error’.
“It was a challenge and a real’ trial and error’ for me having never acted before,” she said.
Karin plays the role of a French maid in Beechworth Theatre Company’s (BTC) farcical play ‘Clue’ hitting the stage Friday night for the first of six performances over the next week until Sunday, 18 May.
"We’re really looking forward to giving the Beechworth community and surrounding districts another great performance and production from BTC,” she said.
Karin said working towards the performance with a fabulous cast and great direction from Brad Buckingham has been a lot of fun.
“It’s been a complex play with a lot of listening and learning and to be ready with one’s lines," she said.
“There’s live music and wonderful sound effects.
“It’s been fabulous to be part of a stellar cast and learn from each other.
“Everyone brings something unique to the stage and it’s about what the director can bring out of you too.
“I enjoy the challenge, it’s my fourth play."
‘Clue’ is set have audiences in stitches with lots of laughs and guessing ‘whodunnit’.
The play originated from the well-known murder mystery board game Cluedo and is adapted from the 1985 film, Clue.
Play director Brad Buckingham said actors are ready to entertain audiences following successful check rehearsals this week with costumes, lights, sound and microphones.
With tickets starting to snowball, 200 have already been sold so far over the six performances.
“It’s a funny script combining wit and farcical movements and stupid things happening heading to slap stick and there’s something for everyone that will make them laugh,” Brad said.
Brad also said timing of performances gave people the chance to dine before or after shows.
Tonight’s performance starts at 7.30pm with a finish at 10pm with next Friday, 16 May the same hours, Saturday performances for 10 and 17 May are from 4.30pm to 7.30pm, and Sunday 11 and 18 May are from 2pm to 5.30pm.
