A WODONGA man who hit and subsequently killed a pedestrian on Rutherglen’s Main Street in March has avoided conviction or a driving.

Appearing at Wodonga Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 29, the 60-year-old admitted to careless driving and double parking.

The late Dianne Boyd, 76, was hit by the 60-year-old’s utility as she was crossing the road on March 28 around 9am.

She lost balance and fell backwards onto the road.

The 60-year-old driver was one of several people who tried to assist the injured 76-year-old.

Ms Boyd was hopitalised but died of her injuries a day later.

Magistrate Megan Casey set the driver on a 12-month good behaviour bond without issuing conviction or driving ban.
