BEECHWORTH Lions Club are celebrating their wonderful win in the V6 District of the Lions Clubs International Foundation Competition.
Lions Club secretary Iris Mannik said that it was a great honour to receive the prestigious award being one of only two winners out of 52 clubs in the V6 District, which covers Northern Victoria and Southern New South Wales.
Treasurer Christine Luckman agreed and said that a great deal of work went into the application, which detailed the large number of projects undertaken including repair of the Platelayers Cottage, bushfire recovery, Volunteers Expo, leadership and organisation and the training session at Corryong.
Club president John Eldrid said that marketing and communication were well covered in the application and noted the popular Beechworth Club Newsletter 'The Pride' plus articles in O&M Advertiser, the excellent webpage, and the use of Facebook.
"It was great to satisfy all sections of the competition, gain four new club members and win such an amazing award," he said.
