ROUND three of the Beechworth Tennis Club's summer season was again played in good spirits in great conditions.
Players are beginning to find some consistency in their game.
For some this means a consistent improvement, while for others there is pleasure in contributing consistently to the team results.
Burder Industries, with the consistent Ben Croome providing a lesson in placement and control, and Matilda Taylor improving as the night went on, again won four sets to two. Myrtleford Furnishings and Floors were not disgraced, however, as they were only defeated by two games on the night.
Substitute Rod Watson was the most reliable and consistent player for them on the night.
Teams Indigo Real Estate and Alpine Indigo Accounting played out a three sets each draw, with Indigo edging ahead 27 games to 23.
Paul Stefaniak had the edge on Angus Connolly on the night, and while that was balanced out by a consistent team input by Renee Rinaudo, Adam Fendyk and Anna Mackinley, Diamund Kelly and Andrew and Billy Taylor proved the reliable support for Paul.
Sue Fendyk and Mick Cavellin had John Sheehan join them as a substitute for Team Normac in a consistent display to win 32 games on the night.
Pritchard Plumbing team never gave up, however, with Tonya Sey consistently proving their strength.
Shingleback Off Road team also had a clear 30 games to 19 over Alpine Survey but the outstanding performance was Taj Brundell who substituted for both Simon Maughan and Alice Cooper.
Jeremy Schmolzer, Ben Sockett, Christie Bence and Karen Potter had to work consistently hard against Taj who combined well with both Darren and Ruby McCormick. February 14 sees Alpine Indigo Accounting playing Myrtleford Furnishing and Floors, Burder Industries take on Pritchard Plumbing, Alpine Survey and Mapping meets NorMac Rural and Beechworth Coffee Roasters play Shingleback Off Road.
Indigo Real Estate will enjoy the night off with the bye.
