A WINDY, cold afternoon was what greeted the golfers last Sunday afternoon but even after the wet miserable week, the course was very dry under foot and the greens were great to putt on.

Stroke for the June Monthly Medal was the game.

It was tight at the top with three players returning the same score of 70 nett.

After a three way countback was conducted it was Andy Croome who prevailed with 88/18/70, Jacob Howard was the runner up with 82/12/70 and the unlucky third place getter was Dylan Pool with 71/1/70.

There was also a prize for the least amount of putts and that went to Jacob Howard with just 23 putts.

Two nearest the pins went off and they both went to Andy Croome on the 5th and 10th.

Due to the adverse weather. There was no golf last Wednesday.

This Sunday will be an Ambrose event.

It would be good to see a great field turn up to participate in a more fun, social teams event before the serious stuff starts the week after when the Club Championships start.

Sunday, June 26. 1st Round Club Championships and handicap match play qualifying.

Sunday, July 3. 2nd Round Club Championships.

Sunday, July 10. 3rd Round Club Championships.

Sunda,y July 17. Final Round Club Championships.

It would be great to see all members make an effort to play in the championships to make it a memorable event.

Remember if you can't play one round that is okay as the Championships are the best three out of four scores.
