‘Reveries’ concert nearly booked out for second session

CONCERT goers who missed out on a cancelled event due to COVID restrictions have booked out the first of two performance of 'Reveries' now being held on November 21 as part of a series being held by Beechworth's Anglican Christ Church.

The concert series attracts musicians from far and wide and this month's concert drew interest from renowned harpsichordist and pianist Peter Hagen with cellist Sam Goble both performing at the event.

Event organiser Dr Kate Sutherland said tickets were still available for the second performance at 4pm which will follow the first which has been sold out.

Mr Hagen on baby grand piano with Mr Goble playing cello will perform French music by Debussy, Faure and Saint–Saint–Saëns.

Dr Sutherland said she enjoyed bringing the community together with the events held in the church with its beautiful performance space as well as the acoustic setting where musicians have favourably commented about the space.

"Peter and Sam will provide a beautiful moment in our lives as we emerge from a very trying time," Dr Sutherland said.

The COVID–Safe planned concert with limited numbers where bookings are essential can be made by contacting Kate on 03 57 281 893.

Masks are to be worn and a full vaccination certificate will need to be presented.

Tickets cost $30 ($20 concession) with the second session starting at 4pm at Beechworth's Christ Church located the corner of Church and Ford streets.
