PUNTERS, racing enthusiasts and families across the Alpine Valley are getting ready to dress to the nines, with the annual Mount Beauty and District Community Bank Dederang Picnic Races set to take place this Saturday, February 26.
A pillar event of the area, the races began in the 19th century and, with the exception of world wars and extreme heat, have operated continuously each year.
